Shie Tapped to Music Edit Sins Of Our Yooth

Sins Of Our Yooth is the story of four teenage boys who accidentally kill a young buy and the aftermath of that event. Starring Ally Sheedy, Lucas Till, Mitchel Musso, Joel Courtney & Bridger Zadin, the film is directed by Gary Entin, with whom Shie previously worked on Geography Club and is scored by Lior Rosner, with whom Shie often collaborates.

Shie Gets Animated with Mr. Peabody & Sherman

Shie has joined the music team of DreamWorks Animation’s Mr. Peabody & Sherman. This animated feature follows the adventures of Mr. Peabody & Sherman as they travel through time. The film starts the voices of Ty Burrell, Max Charles, Ariel Winter, Leslie Mann, Allison Janney, Stanley Tucci, Mel Brooks and Stephen Colbert and is directed by Rob Minkoff, with whom Shie worked previously on Flypaper.

Shie Goes for a Ride

Shie Rozow has been tapped to create the temp score for Helen Hunt’s 2nd directorial effort Ride. Hunt stars as Jackie, a mother who travels cross-country to California following her son, Angelo (Brenton Thwaites) after he decides to drop out of school to become a surfer. The film co-stars Luke Wilson & David Zaya, with Robert Knepper, Leonor Varela, and Richard Kind.

Shie Rozow Scoring Jasmine

Shie Rozow is scoring Dax Phelan’s directorial debut – Jasmine. This dark thriller follows Leonard To played by Jason Tobin, as he tries to come to terms with the murder of his wife. As he visits the site of her murder a mysterious man appears (Byron Mann). Leonard decides to follow the man, suspecting he might be his wife’s killer, only to discover things are not at all as they seem. Shot entirely on location in Hong Kong, the film also stars Eugenia Yuan and Sarah Lian and will feature a dark electronic score.

The Unknown Known Premiers

The Unknown Known premiered at the 2013 Venice Film Festival, where it was the first documentary in the festival’s history to be in competition. The film examines the life and career of Donald Rumsfeld. Directed by Errol Morris, the film was scored by Danny Elfman, and music edited by Shie Rozow.

Epic Opens Worldwide

Epic had a very strong opening weekend, earning north of $40 million in domestic box office receipts. From the creators of Ice Age & Rio, Epic is an animated feature starring the voices of Colin Farrel, Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried, Christoph Walt, Aziz Ansari, Chris O’Dowd, Pitbull, Jason Sudeikis, Steven Tyler and Beyoncé Knowles.

Shie Gets A Job

Shie Rozow has been tapped to create a temp-score for the upcoming comedy Get A Job. Starring Anna Kedrick, Bryan Cranston, & Miles Teller, Get A Job centers around a group of friends who are recent college graduates and their attempts to get a job. Alison Brie, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, John Cho, Marc Maron, John C. McGinley, Jorge Garcia, Marcia Gay Harden, Nicholas Braun, Bruce Davison, Brandon T. Jackson, and Greg Germann round off the cast.

Shie Delves Into The Unknown Known

Shie Rozow is teaming up with Oscar winner Erroll Morris and 4 time Oscar nominee Danny Elfman as Music Editor for the upcoming feature documentary The Unknown Known. This will be Shie’s 3rd collaboration with Morris (they previously worked together on Standard Operating Procedure and Tabloid) and a continuation of his decade-long collaboration with Elfman.

In Time of Silver Rain

In Time of Silver Rain: Seven Poems of Langston Hughes is released on iTunes & amazon.com. In this album that was music edited by Shie, composer Lior Rosner uses his music to liberate Hughes’ words from the boundaries of historical context. Rosner’s modern settings challenge us to consider the contemporary relevance of Hughes’ frank and often searing meditations on the universal themes of oppression, loss, frustration and love. While the emotions captured in these songs are indeed timeless, beneath the undeniable modernity of Rosner’s music, there are subtle harmonic nods to the jazz that provided the sonic backdrop for the Harlem Renaissance. Acclaimed soprano Janai Brugger sings, with Rosner accompanying on piano.

Oz Proves Truly Great & Powerful at the Box Office

Oz The Great & Powerful opened this past weekend to a resounding $80.3 million in domestic sales and $150 million worldwide. This marks this year’s biggest opening, and the 3rd biggest March opening of all time! Shie Rozow was a music editor on this project marking his 19th feature film collaboration with renown composer Danny Elfman.

Shie Joins Epic Crew

Continuing his long-time collaboration with composer Danny Elfman, Shie has joined the music editorial crew of Epic. From the creators of Ice Age and Rio, Epic tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and the forces of evil. When a teenage girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world… and ours. Epic features the voices Beyoncé Knowles, Colin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, and Amanda Seyfried.

Shie to Guest Lecture in Rome Again

Shie has been invited to lecture during the winter session of the International Film Scoring Lab, at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia’s Scoula Nazionale Di Cinema – Italian National School of Cinema. The lab’s art director is famed composer Ennio Morricone, and it is directed by Giovanni Rotondo & Federico Savina. This will be Shie’s 2nd visit as guest lecturer.
