Shie’s 4th Annual Birthday Fundraiser Walk
February 11, 2024 |
This year, in light of events in Israel, I decided to do something a little different than in the past. Instead of choosing a single charity, I’m highlighting 4 different organizations that are helping those affected by the war. Not wanting to put sponsors in a possibly uncomfortable position of appearing political, there are no sponsors this year. However anyone who gives $100 or more can send me the donation receipt and I will send them a copy of both my books if interested (physical copies shipped within the US, digital copies for the rest of the world).
Below are the four organizations I chose to support this year. Please give what you can to whichever you feel moved to do so.
I will be walking 5 miles on February 11th. If you’d like to join me please contact me for details.
The Hostages and Missing Families Forum, was formed by the families of the abductees less than 24 hours after the horrific attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7th, in which more than 1300 innocent civilians were murdered and hundreds were taken hostage.
Counting thousands of volunteers and supporters, the Hostage and Missing Families Forum includes family members and friends of the hostages alongside top security, law, media and diplomacy experts who are donating their time to the cause.
Donations are directed towards advancing all necessary efforts through diplomatic, medical and legal channels and towards raising public awareness to the hostage crisis by creating campaigns in Israel and abroad.
Demanding the release of innocent hostages does not require bravery, it is not political either. Many of the hostages are children, women and the elderly. We invite you to support us at this difficult time and stand by the innocent civilians and their families in a clear demand to bring them home now.

JGive is a non-profit social impact organization, founded in 2014 by the Asor Fund, with the goal of growing the culture of giving in Israel and to Israel. At JGive, we develop the technological infrastructure that makes giving accessible to the general public. (Like this site, for example, but also so much more). So, it doesn’t matter if you are a donor, a non-profit, a philanthropist, or a business. JGive is your home for all the good you plan to do.
You can explore the JGive site to give directly to countless projects they support.
